CBOAC offers active email user groups, engaging forums and training relevant to county building departments. This includes the sharing of information and local interpretations and centers on forming valuable partnerships to elevate the professionalism, expertise and value of the building official and staff.
In addition, CBOAC focuses on education that responds to the needs of our principal county members and includes vital networking opportunities with other government officials and stakeholders such as California State Association of Counties, California Building Officials, State Fire Marshal, International Code Council and professional consultants throughout the state.
Joining an organization like the CBOAC has benefits much greater than can be expected. As an individual responsible for enforcing the codes that keep us all safe from day to day, we also have the responsibility and the desire to be the best we can be to do our jobs. An organization like CBOAC is a tremendous tool that we can use to help us get better at what we do by providing the professional development we need; provide a forum to network with other individuals responsible for making our buildings safe; and an opportunity to not only meet but know the members of our profession as well as the industry members that help us make the right daily decisions. There is so much more. You have to experience the CBOAC to understand. Yes, CBOAC makes us better professionals, but at the same time we are making long term friendships that you cannot make anywhere else.
